Lori Slenker, RN, MSN, CVRN-BC, is a Registered Nurse with over 30 years of experience providing direct patient care. As a Certified Cardiovascular Nurse (CVRN-BC) she has spent the majority of her nursing career caring for patients in critical care settings, especially those with heart failure and other cardiovascular diseases.
She received her nursing license as a Licensed Practical Nurse from York County Vocational Technical School in York, Pennsylvania in 1986. She attended Excelsior College in Albany, New York where she received her Associate’s Degree in Nursing in 2008, a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 2012 and a Master’s Degree in Nursing in 2017. She maintains professional memberships with the American College of Cardiovascular Nurses (ACCN), and the American Association of Heart Failure Nurses (AAHFN).
In addition to providing direct patient care at Okyanos, Lori serves as Medical Intake Specialist. She works closely with physicians and other disciplines to prepare prospective patients for procedures. These duties include coordinating the receipt of all pertinent patient information, medical records, pre-operative studies and surgical clearances. In this role, Lori educates patients, family members and caregivers about what they can expect during all phases of the treatment process.
